3rd Shift Fabricator

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Fabricator to prep, fit, cut, drill, and weld various structural steel assemblies in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, experience with structural steel fabrication, and a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability

Fabrication & Welding

  • Prep, fit, cut, drill, and weld structural steel components according to specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, torches, grinders, drills, and welding equipment
  • Perform MIG, Flux-Core, Stick, and other welding processes as required
  • Cut, bend, shape, and assemble steel components
  • Measure and fabricate steel frames, beams, columns, girders, and related assemblies
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards

Production & Quality

  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards
  • Focus on reducing material waste and improving productivity
  • Inspect materials and finished products for defects
  • Maintain accurate measurements and ensure proper fit-up of assemblies
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Inspect and maintain fabrication tools and equipment
  • Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies as needed

Teamwork & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
  • Demonstrate reliability through strong attendance and punctuality
  • Support a positive and productive workplace culture
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members when appropriate

Qualifications

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes
  • Experience operating cutting torches, welding machines, grinders, drills, and other fabrication equipment
  • Strong understanding of welding symbols, measurements, and quality standards
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or completion of a 2-year trade school program preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of fabrication and welding experience required
  • Structural steel fabrication experience preferred
  • AWS welding certifications are a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders
  • Ability to work safely at heights when required
  • Ability to work overtime and extended hours as needed

Schedule

  • Full-Time, 3rd Shift
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands
