Instruction & Planning
Prepare the classroom, materials, and lesson plans, and implement research-based instructional practices.Identify, modify, and adapt curriculum and approved instructional resources to meet various learning styles and student needs.Use a variety of teaching methods to instruct students individually, in small groups, and as a whole class.Establish standards-based objectives for all lessons and use clear criteria for evaluating them.Use audiovisual aids, computers, and other interactive technology to supplement and support lessons.Implement and maintain effective classroom management to ensure continual student progress.
Assessment & Student Progress
Observe, evaluate, remediate, and extend students’ academic performance, behavior, and social development.Use data to monitor learning and design lessons tailored to student needs.Administer standardized achievement and ability tests as required.Interpret student performance data and implement approved Response to Intervention Tiers 1, 2, and 3.Maintain efficient record-keeping procedures.Communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress.
Campus & Collaboration
Monitor students across a variety of educational environments — classroom, cafeteria, playground, school grounds, hallways, restrooms, and study trips — to provide a safe and positive learning environment.Work collaboratively with colleagues, including Special Education staff, in support of student achievement goals and professional development.Enforce charter school rules and policies.Actively participate in meetings and professional development activities.Keep up to date with current educational issues.Demonstrate a strong work ethic, accept responsibility, and be self-motivated.Exemplify through manner, words, and dress the high standards and expected behavior of the school.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information concerning students, parents, staff, and classroom incidents.Adhere to ethical and legal standards, and model professional, responsible behavior.Participate in approved professional development to improve skills related to the job assignment.Follow standard procedures for communication, interaction, and discipline as outlined in the Staff Handbook.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required.
- Texas ESL certification required.
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
- This job operates in a school environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Very active role: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
- Frequently lift and move items over 20 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the role.
