Summary
A leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum windows and commercial glazing solutions in Des Moines is seeking a Cut Table Operator. Glass cutting involves breaking out and racking glass from an automated cutting system, with occasional custom hand cutting. This is a fast-paced, near-constant-movement position that also works with other departments. This is a full-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Cut Table Supervisor, requiring 40+ hours per week. Typical schedule is approximately Monday–Friday, 4am–2pm.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery, including control power, the automated retrieval system, and the automated glass cutting table
- Organize priorities for daily production of the glass cutting table
- Utilize the glass racking system
- Understand quality requirements for glass and conduct meticulous quality checks on finished products
- Precisely handle glass to ensure safety and quality
- Communicate with departments to complete recuts
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, and wear proper safety equipment

Education & Physical Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Carry and rotate up to 50 lbs for 10–30 feet frequently; up to 95 lbs occasionally; team-lift glass over 95 lbs
- Stand or walk up to 12 hours a day; frequent walking, reaching, and bilateral hand coordination
- Wear all required PPE
Pay & Hours
$18.00 per hour. Full-time, no less than 40 hours per week.
