We are looking for a dependable Warehouse & Forklift Operator for an international manufacturer opening a new plant in the greater Des Moines area. This is a full-time, direct-hire, on-site position. You will run the floor side of receiving and shipping, working closely with the Logistics Coordinator, who handles the paperwork and scheduling. Target start is February 2027, after the company finishes moving into the new building. The exact plant location is shared during the interview.
This role needs 2 or more years of warehouse experience operating a forklift, including loading and unloading containers or trucks. Experience with a warehouse management system or scanners, shipping and receiving at a manufacturer, or overhead cranes is a plus.
This is physical work. You will be on your feet most of the day, lifting, unloading containers and moving material by forklift in all seasons. The team is small, so you will also help in other areas of the plant when needed.
Schedule
Plant hours are about 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming material and check it against the paperwork.
- Unload and load shipping containers and trucks safely.
- Move, store and stage material with a forklift.
- Keep the warehouse organized, clean and safe.
- Report receipts, shipments and any damage to the Logistics Coordinator so inventory records stay accurate.
- Complete daily forklift safety checks before operating.
- Label and arrange stored material so it is easy to find and count.
- Help in other areas of the plant when needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of warehouse experience operating a forklift.
- Current forklift certification, or able to certify at hire.
- Experience loading and unloading containers or trucks.
- Able to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
- Reliable transportation to the plant year-round.
