Position Overview
We are seeking a Design Engineer with 3–5 years of mechanical design experience to develop and improve heavy-duty axle, suspension, and braking components used in agricultural, industrial, and off-highway equipment. This role will support new product development, continuous improvement, validation testing, and manufacturing integration. Candidates should be comfortable owning designs, collaborating across departments, and working directly with OEM engineering groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and detail mechanical components and assemblies, including axles, hubs, and suspension parts
- Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation using GD&T and manufacturing standards
- Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and feasibility reviews
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities
- Analyze test data and field feedback to recommend design improvements
- Maintain BOMs, routings, engineering changes, and related documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency
- Assist with technical inputs for quotes, cost estimates, and customer specifications
- Work with suppliers on component selection, manufacturability updates, and cost-down opportunities
- Provide guidance to designers or junior engineers working on shared projects
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience in automotive, agricultural, industrial, or heavy-duty equipment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and strong GD&T knowledge
- Experience supporting prototype builds, testing, and design validation
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams
