Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and technically knowledgeable Sales Manager to manage and grow OEM accounts within the commercial vehicle and equipment manufacturing sector. This is an individual contributor role focused on selling braking systems, suspension components, and axle solutions directly to OEM customers across the country. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to manage complex sales cycles within multi-level manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
OEM Sales & Account Management
- Manage and grow sales of brakes, suspensions, axles, and related components to OEM customers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned OEM accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and responsiveness
- Develop a deep understanding of customer applications, engineering requirements, and production needs
- Present product solutions, technical capabilities, and value propositions to engineering, purchasing, and leadership teams
- Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and pricing packages
Business Development
- Identify new OEM opportunities and expand penetration within existing accounts
- Understand customer product requirements and communicate them internally
- Assist OEMs with troubleshooting, product selection, and integration guidance
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and account activity in CRM systems
- Track program timelines, production schedules, and customer demand
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless execution
Qualifications & Skills
- 3–7 years of sales experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy equipment, or related industries
- Experience selling brake systems, suspension components, axles, or mechanical systems strongly preferred
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand engineered products
- Proven success managing OEM accounts and long sales cycles
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to build trust and credibility with engineering-driven customers
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
