This position is for a Special Education Teacher in the Elementary/Secondary Program, reporting to the Principal. (190 service days.)

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required
- Texas ESL certification required
- Valid Special Education teaching certificate required
- Demonstrated competency in the assigned core academic subject area
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement IEPs and behavioral intervention plans per assessment and ARD Committee recommendations
- Collaborate with colleagues to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods
- Work closely with related-service personnel, paraprofessionals, and classroom teachers to ensure services and modifications are implemented
- Prepare classroom materials and lesson plans using research-based instructional practices
- Observe, evaluate, remediate, and extend students’ academic performance, behavior, and social development
- Modify and adapt curriculum and resources to meet varied learning styles and needs
- Instruct students individually, in small groups, and as a whole class
- Monitor students across educational environments to provide a safe, positive learning environment
- Maintain effective classroom management and use data to tailor lessons
- Communicate with parents and guardians about student progress
- Administer standardized assessments and implement Response to Intervention Tiers 1, 2, and 3
- Participate in meetings and professional development to improve student achievement
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Operates in a school environment using standard office equipment. The role is active — standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and similar movement throughout the day — and requires frequently lifting and moving items over 20 pounds.
